Thursday 12.10.06 : 01:35 PM GMT :: "Mobile Clubbing"
music: The Archie Bronson Outfit - Fire Horse
mood: groggy with a cold

I went Mobile Clubbing yesterday. Wow. I didn't realise quite how many people were there until I went up to the balcony to take a photo before I left

Also saw The Archie Bronson Outfit at the ICA, they were really rather good. Supported by Amusement Parks on Fire, not bad either.

So all in all, a very enjoyable evening indeed!

are the BBC taking the piss with this photofit of this suspect?

bbc (35k image)

They should have been able to catch him based on his aerodynamically inefficient head alone.

EDIT: apparently they aren't! I just saw the exact some picture on the news. Well, I have to say, you certainly would recognise him if you knew him...

Thursday 20.04.06 : 05:30 PM GMT :: "BBC Series Flogging"
music: Mystery Jets - You Can't Fool Me Dennis'
mood: mind numbed

I am so fed up of the BBC constantly crowbarring their current "popular" series into every single program they possibly can. My final straw in this matter has just manifested itself as a program on BBC1 at the moment called "Totally Dr Who". Aimed at children, it's just yet another vehicle for the BBC to show never ending clips from the last episode of Dr Who. It truly is ruining my enjoyment of this latest series, I'm sick of people constantly going on about the same things related to this series on tv, radio and print.
Another noteworthy annoyance the BBC has inflicted upon me recently has been a terrible advert they ran with a caption something along the lines of "we're the BBC, this is what we do": queue a clip of Brent dancing in The Office. Oh get over yourselves.

Saturday 15.04.06 : 02:26 PM GMT :: "Free Money!"
music: Graham Coxon - Standin On My Own Again
mood: rested

Wow, the inland revenue just randomly sent me a cheque for £94.54, I'm going to run to the bank as fast as I can before they realise they've made a mistake. I particuarly like how non descript the letter is they sent me, it doesn't even say to whom I was employed to rack up all this tax owed to me (I don't have a clue, unless the place where I was working a year ago were not dodging taxes as I had thought, but I still think that's unlikely). Nonetheless, the cheque's got my name on now and there's nothing they can do about it muahaha... ... until the ratbags ask for it back in a few months time.

Saturday 01.04.06 : 10:36 AM GMT :: "Ubuntu Women"
music: Raconteurs - Broken Boy Soldiers
mood: sleepy

ubuntuforum.org seem to have opened a forum for women ( http://www.ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=76 )/

I have to say I think this really is quite a bad idea, although the forum description states that there is no segregation in the main forums, surely by creating this forum in the first place that's what you're doing a bit. I just can't see the point of it anyway, reading it briefly it just seems to be for moaning about men being sexist and in turn being sexist themselves. Case in point, I saw a thread there about making a game for women. wtf is a game for women exactly? am I just being ignorant? are we not supposed to enjoy traditionalist male games like FPS or RTS while in turn they're not allowed to play The Sims or something? Bah.

Thursday 09.02.06 : 01:00 AM GMT :: "Darkness Concert"
music: The Darkness - Ball
mood: pleased with myself

Tonight I managed to sneak into The Darkness conert with Panchita by cleverly pretending to be part of the catering staff (wearing smart black clothes helped with this) and walking straight past security through the staff entrance. We then hung around for a couple of hours playing cards and chatting (even chatted a security guard- the blagging goes on), then sauntered into the concert hall as all the Darkness fans were let in through the main entrance and started running their little legs off to get to the front. Too bad we were there first razz

First up were The Ark from Sweden. Good effort but the songs did get a little repetitive with the same line being sung over and over again by the crazed lead singer who was trying to mimic Jake Shears.

They were followed by Juliette and The Licks who were nothing short of really great. They played a really awesome set and I was wondering whether The Darkness would actually be able to top this.

I wasn't sure what to expect as I could hear some of their fans talking behind me as the roadies set up the stage and I don't really know much about their music other than their "touching yoooooou" song.
"That last band were crap"
"I hate the White Stripes, their songs are rubbish"
urgh.
The stage was reveleaed. Could it be anymore Spinal Tap?

But.. I didn't think I'd hear myself say this, they were really really good. Justin Hawkins is actually a lovely guy and a great, funny entertainer. Really enjoyed myself.
He entered the concert hall on a chariot... of breasts! with flashing nipples!

ha, look at all the losers behind me wink

And you know what else, he's also a really skilled guitarist- did some pretty impressive stuff. Plus he even played some AC/DC, awesome big grin
My god what a cool way to do a guitar solo

Some responses to the gloating I did via text:

John: Nice work big grin
Rix: Bitch!
Barry: That's not fair
Luke: Lmao! No Way! Lol, Tha's outstanding! You've got balls ;-) I'm very jealous too!
Duncan: Blagging skills: 10. Taste in music: 0
Ell: big grin You are the wind beneath my wings.
Polley: Impressive!
Vic: Cool!
Sul: Fucking hell. My hat is tipped.
Hannah: Wicked get me a shirt!
Mark: lol Dunno what's worse... your outrageous criminal caper... or going to see the Darkness! Nice one anyway big grin
